Frequently Asked Questions
What is a customized on-site workshop from PICC Excellence?
A customized on-site workshop is hands-on vascular access and intravenous therapy training delivered directly at your facility. Each program is tailored to your hospital’s specific needs, skill levels, and patient populations — from adult, pediatric and neonatal PICC training to ultrasound-guided PIV or IV therapy courses. Training can also be arranged regionally if on-site hosting isn’t preferred.
How does on-site training work?
PICC Excellence sends certified vascular access instructors to your location for personalized, interactive training. Clinicians complete prerequisite online courses first, followed by 3 days of on-site simulation and supervised insertions. Your facility provides the training space, ultrasound and basic clinical insertion supplies, while PICC Excellence handles the education, simulation equipment, and instruction.
What topics can be included in a custom workshop?
Topics are flexible and designed to meet your clinical goals. Common training areas include:
Neonatal and pediatric PICC insertion
Ultrasound-guided central, PICC and peripheral IV (UGPIV)
PICC and Midline insertion competency
IV therapy and vascular access device management
Each program includes online didactic education and practical simulation competency sessions.
How much does a PICC Excellence on-site workshop cost?
The standard rate is $4,700 per day for instructor-led training, with a three-day minimum. This includes online course access for up to six clinicians and all instructor travel expenses — there are no hidden fees. Total cost for a 3-day workshop is typically $14,100, depending on travel distance and facility needs.
Each standard workshop includes access for up to six clinicians, which ensures personalized, supervised practice and competency sign-off. Larger groups can be accommodated with additional instructors or training days as needed.
How far in advance should we schedule a workshop?
Custom workshops should be scheduled at least 12 weeks in advance to allow time for coordination and online course completion. A signed contract and full payment are required to confirm the dates and provide time for online education access.
Can our team earn continuing education credits (CEs)?
Yes. PICC Excellence is an approved provider of continuing education through the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP15304), Florida Board of Nursing (#50-1594), and Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Participants can earn CE credits for eligible courses completed during the workshop.

Ultrasound basics and image interpretation
Step-by-step insertion techniques customized to your needs
Complication prevention and troubleshooting
Simulation practice and supervised insertions.
Who teaches the training?
All workshops are taught by certified vascular access professionals with extensive clinical experience in ultrasound-guided insertion, intravenous therapy, and vascular access management. Instructors bring real-world expertise from hospital and critical care environments, ensuring evidence-based, practical instruction.
How do we request a custom workshop or quote?
You can request a quote or schedule training directly through https://www.piccexcellence.com or contact the team at (706) 377-3360 or info@piccexcellence.com. A representative will help you customize the training content, confirm available dates, and finalize your workshop plan.
Are there options for virtual or blended learning?
