A Mastery Certificate is earned through a process by which an individual must met predetermined standards specified by the granting agency. With the UGPIV Mastery Certificate, PICC Excellence is certifying that the candidate has met certain standards of knowledge and training specific to ultrasound guided peripheral intravenous catheter insertion. The standards for UGPIV-MC encompass not only best practice insertion techniques but anatomy, catheter selection, infection prevention, ultrasound use, and management skills. The UGPIV-MC does NOT verify competency. Competency is established by the employer and/or preceptor.

Gain a Mastery Rating: Through the multi-module methodology you will complete the Minimum Performance Score (MPS), mastery rating for supervised insertions and data collection audit tool that is required for the Mastery Examination.

Successful completion of the exam includes recognition on the PICC Excellence Mastery Certificate Registry online. Achieving a successful examination score entitles the learner to the UGPIV Mastery Certificate and inclusion on the registry list for UGPIV Mastery Certificate distinguished experts.
