UG155 UGPIV Mastery Certificate Exam

The UGPIV Mastery Certificate (UGPIVMC) Exam demonstrates and validates the clinicians ability to perform ultrasound guided peripheral intravenous therapy with a high level of skill, knowledge and experience. A Mastery Certificate is earned through a process by which an individual must met predetermined standards specified by the granting agency. With the UGPIV Mastery Certificate, PICC Excellence is certifying that the candidate has met certain standards of knowledge and training specific to ultrasound guided peripheral intravenous catheter insertion. The standards for UGPIVMC encompass not only best practice insertion techniques but anatomy, catheter selection, infection prevention, ultrasound use, and management skills. The UGPIVMC does NOT verify competency. Competency is established by the employer and/or preceptor.
